Leaf Bookmark

Alasannya simpel, saya suka pembatas buku.

Do you always have a book or an e-book reader with you wherever you go? Well, I do. I read whenever I get a chance to, that includes reading while waiting for my food to be served or waiting for the cashier to return the change in a restaurant. Maybe it’s just me (or a few people out there), but I prefer a concrete book when it comes to reading. Why? Simple, I love bookmark.

My previous bookmark (image above), as you can see, is in a nasty condition while I still have tons of books in my reading list (if you like, the tutorial for the mustache bookmark can be viewed here).

Berikut cara pembuatannya.

Yesterday, I made a quick corner bookmark from a leaf, banana leaf to be exact. The materials needed are a piece of leaf or grass (the longer the better) and a toothpick, that’s all. This is great when you are having an outdoor picnic with no glue around (but of course, you can always use a paper napkin as a temporary bookmark). So, shall we get started?

Cut a long strip from the leaf if you are using a big wide leaf like mine above. If you are using grass, you may want to leave it as it is.

Lipat daun/rumput seperti gambar di atas.

Fold your leaf/grass.

Lipat silang.

Make a cross fold.

Lipat silang sekali lagi.

And another cross fold.

Get your toothpick and pierce it through the leaf in and out. Be careful not to pierce through the last layer of the leaf or your book pages won’t be able to go through the bookmark.

Selesailah pembatas buku daun ini. Sekarang anda bisa menyisipkannya di buku anda. Selamat membaca!

You can now slip it to the book you’re currently reading. Happy reading!

You can also try folding the leaf in different ways.

Terima kasih telah membaca. Semoga anda menyukainya! :D

    • Hi, KOOW. Yes, I suppose there are many many ways to do it. A toothpick pierce is just the way we secure the shape when making a leaf plate here, just got inspired by that :)
