Photo Lego-man

Hello! Since it’s almost weekend, anyone here care for a Lego br-eak? (oohh… how I’ve always wanted to try this pun!). Yeap, today’s craft will be dealing with these tiny construction bricks to make your own Lego-man. Do you like Lego? I do!! The Lego bricks I used here have been with us for more than 20 years; and they had been passed down from my eldest sister to my youngest brother (who is turning 17 this year and no longer so keen on building bricks). They are still in good condition but probably felt a bit ignored with us growing up and leaving them dusty in the cupboard. So, I decided to take them out and this was what I did!

Halo semuanya! Selamat membaca! :D

Step 1: Build a shape of a head by arranging the lego blocks (image above).

Step 2: Print out your photo(s). Blow the size up if needed to fit the size of the block you have built.

Langkah 2: Cetak foto.

Step 3: Separate the face block and the hair block and get your best decoupage glue.

Langkah 3: Pisahkan blok wajah dan blok rambut dan siapkan lem decoupage (PVA) anda.

Step 4: Apply some glue on top of the face block and stick your photo. Trim off the excess.

Step 5: When it’s dry enough, apply a layer of decoupage glue on top of the photo.

[Optional step]: Repeat the same steps above for the flip side if you have someone other with a similar hairstyle (like in my case) or else, get the same model (from the first photo) but with different expression :D

Step 6: Make a hole on the hair lego block with a soldering iron or a hand drill or anything you are comfortable with. (Just look at the dust!! It must have been ages since the last time we took them out)

Step 7: When everything is dry and clean, connect the two block together, chain it or simply place it on top of your desk as a display and you are done!  :D P.S. I’m sure one day the subjects in the photos will sue me for using their photos in an awkward place like this (a bit creepy, I know!)

  1. These are just so terribly clever and funny! I had a Lego party for our son 2 years ago and it would have been a wonderful thing to do with the boys! they would have loved it — and save it! Thank you for sharing

    • Thank you, Gina!! I know, it’s so funny to imagine yourself printed on the Lego! And the Lego party is just so cool! You seem to always have a lot of amazing and unique ideas for party, like your spy party (I really like this one!) and the recent colorful surprised party with the pinata and sprinkles :-D

I know it’s a bit early but I wish you a Happy Mother’s Day! You are a wonderful mom!
