Powder Paint

DIY Powder Paint

Hi-oh! I’m back. Today’s post is related to last week’s craft post, the Rice Beads! How so? I know they look like they are entirely different crafts but this powder paint idea came up during the rice beads experiment. Take a look at the image below. Those chaotic white lines were formed by my so-called crafty fingers (ehem!) when I was mixing the baby powder and the rice on top of a piece of black paper. As cooked rice is wet, the paper certainly became wet too. So when I lifted up the unused rice grains, the paper was left wet with the mixture of powder and the water from the cooked rice. I left it on top of my table and went to do something else (which I think was just escaping from cleaning the mess I made before my mom saw it) and when I returned (which was about a few hours later) I found this! Give it a try, it’s fun! :D

Halooo! Salam crafter! Dicoba, yuk! Seru! :D

What you need | Yang anda butuhkan:

  1. Powdery (substance) eg. flour, baby powder, milk (I know it looks like salt above but it’s not) | tepung atau bedak (walaupun kelihatan seperti garam pada gambar di atas);
  2. Water | air;
  3. Black (or dark)  color paper | kertas warna hitam (atau gelap);
  4. Bowl or spray bottle | mangkuk atau botol semprot;

DIY Powder Paint

Step 1: Mix your substance with water by adding the water little by little until you get muddy water (my ratio was about 1 (powder substance) : 7 (water); keep the amount of the substance to a minimum, we are not making a paste or dough). Stir/shake it well.

Langkah 1: Campurkan bubuk tepung atau bedak anda dengan air dengan menambahkan air sedikit demi sedikit sampai anda puas dengan kekentalan larutannya (saya membuatnya dengan perbandingan 1 (bubuk) : 7 (air); bubuknya cukup sedikit saja, toh kita bukannya mau membuat adonan). Aduk atau kocok sampai benar-benar larut.

Step 2: Sprinkle, spray, brush or dip your hand to the solution and start making your masterpiece onto the paper.

Step 3: Let the solution drip and spread (but not soaked, please!) and wait for it to dry.

Step 4: When it’s dry, your powdery drawing will come up on top of your paper. Frame it as it is, cut it to pieces, scrapbook, write letters, do anything you’d like to do to it! Enjoy! :D

Selamat mencoba! :D
