Hi all! Lately, a few readers have been encouraging me to make a mini felt cat and today I’m sharing with you my first attempt in making one! I was thinking of making a black cat for the upcoming Halloween when my sister sent me her drawing of this pumpkin-head cat! Ready to make yours?

Halo semuanya! Belakangan ini, ada beberapa pembaca yang meminta tutorial kucing mini dan hari ini saya berbagi tutorial kucing mini pertama yang saya buat! Tadinya saya mau membuat kucing hitam untuk tema Halloween bulan ini tapi langsung saya permak lagi setelah melihat gambar kucing berkepala labu yang digambar oleh kakak saya ini! Ayo dicoba!

What you need | Yang anda butukan:

1. Felt (orange, black and white) | Flanel (jingga, hitam, dan putih);
2. Polyfil or cotton for filling | Kapas isian;
3. Needle & thread | Jarum & benang;
4. Scissors | Gunting.

Step 1: Draw and cut out the parts. You’ll need a pumpkin, 2 stand alone legs, 2 pieces of body with leg and a long strip of felt (the width of the strip will determine the breadth of the cat’s body).

Langkah 1: Gambar dan gunting bagian-bagian tubuh. Anda akan membutuhkan sebuah labu, 2 kaki, dan 2 badan kucing lengkap dengan sebelah kaki, dan satu strip panjang dari flanel (lebar flanel akan menentukan lebar badan kucing).

Step 3: It’s probably hard to see what’s going on in the image above, let’s try with words. Take the stand alone leg and join it to the leg (with body) with thread.

Langkah 3: (Maaf karena foto di atas mungkin kurang jelas >.< ). Jahit kaki (tanpa badan) ke kaki (dengan badan) pada sisi luarnya. 

Step 4: Take the felt strip and have it round the body (tracing the outline of the body) and sew onto it.

Langkah 4: Ambil flanel strip panjang, lingkarkan mengikuti sisi luar badan, dan jahit.

Step 5: Add a pair of grumpy eyes and a pair of pointy ears.

Langkah 5: Tambahkan sepasang mata dan sepasang telinga.

Step 6: Sew the pumpkin head to the body.

Langkah 6: Sambungkan kepala dengan badannya.

Step 7: Get another strip of felt (with the same width as the previous one) and fold it into two to make the tail. Sew it at the back of the body and you are done with your pumpkin cat! 

Step 8: Ambil satu strip flanel lagi (dengan lebar yang sama dengan strip yang sebelumnya) dan lipat dua untuk membuat ekornya. Jahit ekor pada bagian belakang badan dan selesailah kucing labu anda!

Update:
As I was using black felt for this tutorial, the images might not have been clear enough (sorry about that!) but I’ll make sure to use a lighter color felt for the next attempt! And my confession of the day: I forgot the whiskers!!!

Karena saya menggunakan flanel hitam untuk tutorial ini, foto-fotonya mungkin kurang jelas (sorrriiiii!) tapi untuk yang berikutnya, saya akan pastikan untuk menggunakan flanel dengan warna yang lebih terang! Dan pengakuan hari ini: Saya lupa kumisnya!!!
