Summer is almost here everyone (yay!) and today I’m sharing a tutorial on how to make a bracelet from zippers with pop bright colors to brighten up your look! I saw a pack of colorful zippers sold in Daiso (¥100 shop, something similar to A Dollar store) the other day and I thought this is the chance to try my new sewing machine that has just arrived! Today’s craft will only need minimal sewing but if you don’t sew, you can always substitute all the sewing steps with glueing. Here goes the how to!
Yuk dicoba!
What you need | Yang anda butuhkan:
- Zippers | Resleting;
- Felt | Flanel;
- Sewing machine or glue | Mesin jahit atau lem;
- Scissors | Gunting;
- Needle & thread | Jarum & benang.
Step 1:
Cut a piece of felt. Dimension 4.5 cm x length (one round of your wrist).
Langkah 1:
Gunting sehelai kain flanel dengan dimensi 4.5 cm x panjang (lingkar pergelangan tangan).
Step 2:
Take two zippers, right side facing each other and sew the two together. Repeat for the third zipper. Note: You can use glue if you don’t sew ;)
Langkah 2:
Step 3:
Apply a thin layer of glue on four sides of the felt and stick it to the middle of the zippers.
Langkah 3:
Step 4:
Pull the sliders to the middle and cut the excess off using the felt as guide.
Langkah 4:
Step 5:
Sew (or glue) the last zipper to the end of the zippers. Repeat for the other end. Note that the other end is a little bit tricky to sew. I actually just glued it temporarily and sewn it later when everything is finished.
Langkah 5:
Step 6:
Cut the excess and make the zipper stoppers with thread.
Langkah 6:
And here goes the colorful zipper bracelet! Don’t you just love the vivid colors!
Dan selesailah gelang resleting ini!
Confession of the day: I made a mistake in measuring the length and only 4 of my fingers can go through :( Maybe I should repurpose this into a napkin ring and make a new one (with a proper measurement this time!)
