Christmas is just a few days away and in case anyone needs a last minute Christmas decoration, I’m sharing this mini Christmas craft today, a santa tree!
Christmas is almost here and today I’m sharing a quick Xmas-y decoration craft. Renting a small room in Tokyo, there’s no way I can have a big Christmas tree in my room so I made myself a mini version of it (or them) and line the trees up on my desk or the balcony when the sky is clear :) These trees are very easy to make and take only a few minutes each. A reader pointed out that I can make fairies in a jar with the glowing beads I made the other day. After a search for the how-to in the Internet, it looks like the craft calls for the liquid inside a glow stick. I am (still) struggling, trying to find out how to cut my glow stick (it seems like I will need a more powerful tool to cut through it). So, with whatever I had at the time, I made this glowing snow jar instead, minus the glow stick.
Today I’m gonna show you how to
waste use your mechanical pencil lead to make a barcode. Frankly, the result doesn’t work with the barcode reader (most probably due to the poor arrangements of the lead) but it was a fun experiment and you can totally give this a try (with those broken lead) to make a cool, sort of geeky pendant ;) Scroll down to see the how to! I got this glow-in-the-dark squeeze bottle paint during a craft supplies’ sale period last month but had no idea what to do with it (it’s a bad habit of mine, purchasing things without further thinking what I would do with them). Browsing back to all the crafts I did, I stumbled upon this experimental dried paint project from last year and decided to add a little mysterious and fun twist to it with the glow-in-the-dark effect. Just in time for Halloween!
Let’s take a break from Halloween crafts for a while to organize the kitchen today! I’ve been experimenting a lot lately, not just in my crafting table but also in the kitchen. I’m not a cooking expert and honestly, all I know is just making a toast. But a simple toast is boring if you have it everyday, so I’ve been buying spices and mixing them up on top of my toast just to see how they turn out. Glad to say, no funny and inedible toast so far ;) With the increasing number of spices I purchased, I know I need to organize them somehow and with just three things, I whipped up this super easy and quick fix! I’ve been meaning to try doing string art on my own after seeing a lot of home-decor string art pieces in Pinterest but I have no clue what to make. I was wondering if I should make a monogram, a silhouette, a landscape or something else and soon I totally forgot about it. Just in time for Halloween season, I surfed around Pinterest again for Halloween inspirations and saw a lot of spider craft tutorials. And that’s when I know what to make for my Halloween home-decor. String art spider web it is! Continue readingTweet
