Halo!
Hello! I’m back with the third monster for the onelmon series. Do check out the other monsters, stationery holder monster and cell case monster ;)
I always find ‘the quest’ of finding the end of a tape (particularly scotch tape!) as one of those challenges in life. Usually, I mark the end by folding it inward and when I need to use the tape again, I will have to cut fold off because the two sticky layers are just inseparable. Until now, I’ve seen a few methods to tackle this challenge and this tape marker monster is just another way to do it, …in a cute way! :D
Bahan yang dibutuhkan:
- Flanel;
- Kapas (isi);
- Kertas plastik;
- Velcro;
- Jarum dan benang;
- Spidol.
What you need:
- Felt;
- Cotton (as filling);
- Vinyl plastic;
- Hook and loop fasterner/ velcro;
- Needle and thread;
- Marker.
For this tutorial, I’m making a little turtle (I’m a beginner in sewing and I assume turtle is one of the simplest animals to make).
Start by cutting three circles of the exact size (dia. 4 cm). The green is for the shell while the yellow is for the body.
Potong lingkaran hijau menjadi 4 bagian.
Divide the green circle into 4 equal parts.
Draw a (dia. 3.5 cm) circle on top of one of the yellow circles and arrange the green felt so that they fit to the 3.5 cm circle. Sew the green felts on the yellow felt.
Join the sides of each green felt and stuff some cotton before you close the last green felt.
Tempurung kura-kura.
The shell of the turtle (it looks like a hat).
(Agak sulit dilihat pada gambar di atas) Ambil secarik kertas plastik, potong persegi panjang berukuran 1 cm x 3 cm.
It’s a bit hard to see but there is a vinyl plastic up there on the image. Cut a small piece of vinyl 1 cm x 3 cm and get a red marker.
Color the vinyl with your marker. This will be the tongue of the turtle, the ‘marker’ itself.
Make the head of your turtle using two pieces of dia. 1.5 cm felt (yellow and green), stuff cotton in between and sew. Do remember to leave a bit of opening for the red vinyl and don’t forget to add a pair of eyes for it.
Make the hands and legs of the turtle and join all the body parts together by slotting the head, hands and legs between the shell and the other yellow circle you made in the beginning.
Tape a tiny piece of velcro in each pair of leg and hand.
Join both ends together (tongue and tape), hook the velcros and let your monster sit on top of the tape.
Dan saya membuat animasi stop motion pendek. Berikut foto-fotonya! :D
And I did a little stop motion animation as well. Here are the pictures! :D
Ouch!
Semoga hari anda menyenangkan! :D
It may not be a very smart solution for your tape (as you can just remove the turtle, take the vinyl and attach it at the end of the tape) but I hope it may at least cheer you up a bit when you are frustrated to find your tape’s end :) Hope you like it!
Thank you for reading this post! Have a great day! :D
Pengakuan:
Confession:
Initially, I made the turtle for my 1″ masking tape. I somehow engrossed in making this tiny craft and forgot the fact that I need the total length of its hands and legs (stretched) to be twice the width of the tape. For this reason, the turtle is now sitting on top of my 0.5″ scotch tape.
Nice post
