Dried Paint Painting

Hi All! We are going do some painting today (or should I say fake painting?). Anybody here who is good at painting or at least is fond of painting? **Confession time** In my case, if you ask me to paint something, you can expect to see something a 5-year old would come out with when you ask him/her to paint. Yes, I paint terribly, maybe more terrible than a 5-year-old kid (sigh). I’m one of those people who always accidentally misguides the paint brush outside the drawing line and when it happens, tries hard to cover the mistake by spreading the coloring area wider, wider, wider… and then realizes that the drawing is now out of shape, throws the drawing away, and cries in the corner (sob). So why did I choose to do something that I’ve always tried to avoid?

Halo semuanya!

It’s part of the craft contest challenges at One Artsy Mama that I’m participating right now (and I survive in this round!). The contestants were asked to create a craft with paint last week and me, trying to avoid creating some paintings that will drive people away, created this! Join the fun!

What you need | Yang anda butuhkan:

  1. Paint | Cat;
  2. Plastic sheet | Kertas plastik;
  3. Paper | Kertas;
  4. Brush | Kuas;
  5. Glue | Lem.

Dried Paint 3D Painting

Step 1: Dip your brush to the paint bottle/can and drop the paint drips on the plastic sheet. (make more than you think you need).

Step 2: Leave them to completely dry (approx. 3-4 hours). Try not to move them when they are still wet because…

Langkah 2: Biarkan mengering sampai benar-benar kering (sekitar 3-4 jam).

Step 3: Some may crack (but that’s okay, hope you’ve made many!).

Step 4: When the paint chips are dried, remove them from the plastic sheet (this should be easy as they don’t stick to the plastic sheet).

Step 5: Draw anything you like on a piece of paper and apply some glue on top of it (glue stick works like a miracle!).

Step 6: Start sticking the color chips corresponding to your drawing. Stack to close the gaps between the chips if needed.

Step 7: Give it a frame and that’s it! Pretty easy right? :D

Langkah 7: Beri bingkai dan selesai! Cukup mudah kan? :D

Some paint experiments I tried before arriving to these “chips” | Beberapa percobaan dengan cat yang saya lakukan sebelum menggunakan butiran warna ini:

Do the paint dripping directly on the drawing. Doesn’t work. The first batch was doing okay. But when the second layer came in (the stacking part), the paint flowed through the gaps making a big mess.

Langsung meneteskan cat di atas gambar. Gagal. Lapisan pertama masih cukup bagus.

Molding. Might work but there is a high chance of getting a cracked mold. Besides, it takes much longer for the paint to be completely dry.

Cetakan.

So in the end, I settle with the paint chips. What do you think? Will you give this a try?

Bagaimana menurut anda? Tertarik untuk mencobanya?
